蝮蛇和狐狸（Viper and fox）
蝮蛇缠绕在一捆荆棘上，顺着潺潺河水漂流不定。狐狸从一旁经过，目睹此景，朝他喊道：“船主和船真是太般配了！”

寓意：想从守财奴那里得到利益是十分愚蠢的。

蝰蛇和水蛇（Vipers and water snakes）
蝮蛇常常到泉水边饮水。住在那里的水蛇，对蝮蛇不满足自己的领地，却要跑到别人的领地里来喝水，十分生气，出来阻拦他。他们俩的争吵愈演愈烈，并约定互相交战，谁赢了，就把这水陆领地全都交给谁。交战的日期决定之后，那些仇恨水蛇的青蛙，跑到蝮蛇那里激励他，并且答应为他助一臂之力。战斗开始了，蝮蛇向水蛇猛攻，可青蛙除叫唤外，什么也不能做。蝮蛇胜利后，责怪青蛙，虽许诺给他助战，却不但不帮一把，只会唱个不停。青蛙对他说道：“啊，朋友，你知道，我们不是用手助战，而是用声音。”
寓意：在必要用手帮忙的时候，用再好的言语也是毫无用处的。

宙斯与廉耻（Zeus and shame）
宙斯造人之时, 同时也赋予了各种秉性为人所特有，却唯独把“廉耻”给忘了。只好命令廉耻从人的直肠进入人体内。廉耻逡巡不前，羞努异常，对宙斯说：“我可以这样进入，但厄洛斯(爱神)却不能和我一样进来，他来我就走!”
寓意：人类如果纵情恣欲;就毫无廉耻可言了。
